When a person has a vegetable intolerance, he or she will experience negative issues after consuming certain types of vegetables. The types of vegetables that a person is intolerant to will vary greatly. Some people will only experience vegetable intolerance symptoms after consuming certain specific types of vegetables while another person will feel negative vegetable intolerance symptoms after consuming vegetables from a large group or wide variety.

As with all food intolerances, those who have a vegetable intolerance will experience negative symptoms after eating the offending foods. There is a delay between eating the food in question and feeling the symptoms. In most cases, this delay is several hours in length. However, for some people the delay can be up to a day or longer. Food intolerance are very individual and each person will experience them differently. This is also true for symptoms.

It is important to clarify the difference between a food intolerance (such as a vegetable intolerance) and a food allergy. In the case of a food allergy, symptoms usually appear almost immediately after eating the offending food. This is different from the delay that appears with a food intolerance. In addition, food allergy symptoms are often incredibly severe. In some cases, a food allergy can be life-threatening. Food intolerance symptoms are not as severe. They are not life-threatening, but they instead make life difficult for those who have them by causing pain, discomfort or other negative feelings.

What is a Vegetable Intolerance?



A food intolerance is a situation where a person is unable to eat a particular food without experiencing negative symptoms afterwards. In the case of a vegetable intolerance, a person will feel symptoms after eating vegetables. Each vegetable intolerance is different. Some people are only intolerant to one particular vegetable while others are intolerant to a wider variety. In some cases, a person will be intolerant to a specific family of related vegetables. Food intolerances are very individual and certain people will experience them differently than others.

For example, some people will feel negative food intolerance symptoms after eating certain vegetables raw. However, those people will be able to eat those same vegetables cooked without issue. Also, some may be able to eat small amounts of the offending vegetables that they are intolerant to without feeling any symptoms. They will, however, feel symptoms after eating a larger amount.

A food intolerance can be an immune intolerance or a digestive intolerance. With an immune food intolerance, a person’s body will respond with an immune symptom after eating the food in question. With a digestive food intolerance, a person’s body is unable to properly absorb, process or digest the offending food or a compound or nutrient that is present in the offending food.

Digestive Vegetable Intolerance Symptoms



With an immune intolerance, a person will experience an immune response after eating the offending food. However, immune food intolerance symptoms are highly individual. While a person will feel unwell, it is difficult to list common immune intolerance symptoms.

A person with a digestive food intolerance will experience unique symptoms as well. Each person with a digestive food intolerance will experience differences in the delay between eating the offending food and experiencing the symptoms, the severity of the symptoms, the length of time that the symptoms last and the type of symptoms that appear. However, there are some common digestive food intolerance symptoms that many people with a digestive vegetable intolerance will feel.

Digestive vegetable intolerance symptoms include stomach pain, cramping, digestive issues, excessive gas, bloating, constipation, nausea, vomiting and other issues. Vegetable intolerance symptoms, like all food intolerance symptoms, are always delayed. For most people, the delay between eating the offending food and experiencing the symptoms is typically several hours. However, in some people the delay can be up to a day or more.

Vegetable Intolerance Treatment



A person who has a vegetable intolerance can stop feeling symptoms by removing the vegetables that cause issues from his or her diet. As it can sometimes be difficult to determine which vegetables you have an intolerance to without assistance, many people require medical assistance to to determine which vegetables cause food intolerance symptoms.

In most cases, a person does not need to remove the offending foods permanently. Many people are able to return to eating the foods in question at a later date without feeling symptoms. This should be done on the advice of a medical professional.

Most vegetables are incredibly nutritious and contain a great deal of vitamins, nutrients, minerals and other healthy factors. If you are removing certain vegetables from your diet, you should ensure that you are getting the nutrients that these vegetables contain from other sources.
